Not waterproof

This is a nice jacket in terms of fit, comfort, and weight. I've had one for a couple of months and it's my go-to for most days--it layers well so it's great as a shell on cold days too. But the reason I bought the jacket was as a rain-proof coat to wear around the city.

Yesterday I had my first real chance to test its waterproof claims, and I'm *very* disappointed.

After wearing it on my bike in light to moderate rain for about 20 minutes I showed up to work very wet. The arms, the center of the chest, and the back were completely soaked through. After letting the coat dry, I rode again through moderate rain for about 20 minutes, again getting soaked.

I didn't expect this to keep me totally dry in heavy rain or for longer periods of time, but these trips neither of those. Moderate rain for less than half an hour should be a bare minimum for calling a coat "weatherproof." Sadly, this jacket didn't perform much better than any light wool coat would.

I had very high hopes for this material, but sadly it hasn't performed anywhere near as advertised.

Great Buy!

Pro’s - great mid to light weight and to allow layers underneath.

Con’s - wrist cuffs could have an additional male snap to allow for adjustment to fit wrist according to individuals tastes

I purchased a L to allow for an additional layer in the event of inclement and changing weather. I’m 5’9” 170 and a M would have been perfect, but I do not like to be limited in my arms and shoulder mobility and the preferred option of adding an additional layer. I did feel like I was a kid again trying to wear my dad’s clothes with how the sleeves would drape past my wrist and cover more than what was natural of my hands. I purchased the 25 linge ring snap kit in a gunmetal color and tool from gold star tool and added an additional male snap 1 1/4” inset from the original snap and was able to correct the issue. Not sure if ordering the M if I would have had the same result, everyone has a preference as to how they prefer things to fit.

Nice jacket

Haven’t tested it yet in a Southern rainstorm.

Is comfortable & stylish.

A bit thinner than I expected; not suitable for really cold weather.

It’s missing kangaroo pouch pockets on the inside that Voormi, Woolx, icebreaker, etc. come with.

Good wool jacket, runs small

The quality of the material, being natural fiber and an overall quality design. It hasn't been tested yet in rain but I'm looking forward to trying it out. I'm normally a Large and ordered a large. But it does fit a bit tight around the chest and shoulders, especially if I am wearing an extra layer or sweatshirt. I think it is fine for what my uses will be and overall happy with the purchase and jacket. However, be aware that you might want to order a size up. I'm 6'1 and 220. I think an XL would have been more comfortable.
