Well built

I definitely like the jacket. Comfortable and warm. I have only used it as a urban jacket, so I don't know how it would function as an outdoor adventure jacket, i.e. hiking, skiing, snowshoeing. I have used it on a cold, rainy, Vermont day. Stayed waterproof and warm! The only changes I would recommend would be to have the hood permanently attached, zippered hand warmer pockets to keep things in and rain/snow out, and an external zippered chest pocket.

Perfect Jacket

Wore this skiing, -5 degrees in Colorado, it is all natural, it looks great, and kept me warm as I could be with only a wool undershirt beneath it. I love it.

Very Nice

Cons: fit, no draw strings

Pros: everything else

This is a great jacket with two minor drawbacks. First is the fit. I ordered an XL per the size chart for a 46" chest and the jacket was tight in the shoulders and across the chest. No way to layer effectively under it even though it was supposed to be the right size. Had to exchange for an XXL, and they didn't have black so also had to get the dark grey instead. 46" chest and broad shoulders, which would fit an "athletic" cut in most jackets didn't fit in theirs.

The other improvement would be drawstrings for the hood and waist. To me the hood is the most critical of the two because the spacious, soft, comfortable hood will not stay on if you are facing into the wind. I was in decent winds here today wishing I had drawstrings on the hood so it would stay on.

Other than that, this is a great jacket. I wore it for over an hour in a light freezing rain and was completely dry and warm on the inside. It's pretty good in the wind too, and better than my wool shirt jacs. I would buy this again for sure.

Extraordinary

Take wool, sustainably harvested from sheep, and tencel (the liner) made from wood pulp to make a luxury lining that feels better than silk or polyester, add just the right amount of puffy wool insulation, and you have an extraordinarily comfortable jacket. Detachable, removable, and roomy hood. This jacket is fantastic. I would not want to wear it on a camping trip, but I guess I could. To me it is the perfect urban puff coat. Love it. And I love Woolly! Woolly clothing has become an integral part of my wardrobe. I am 5'9" / 170 lbs. and a medium has been perfect for t's and this jacket. The small was perfect for the hoodie.

Finally found the coat I've spent years looking for! Wish it came in women's sizes.

I'm done wearing clothes made from petroleum! I've been looking for a coat with an exterior made of 100% wool that's also insulated with 100% wool for years and years. Last year I decided to make it myself (seriously! I did!) I sourced some free local wool so I could learn to spin it into yarn and I'm teaching myself to knit and weave. It's a lot to learn and I'm a long way from being there so I'm very happy I found this! I got the small and it's a little big across the shoulders and torso, which I expected (I'm about 5' 6", 125 lbs), but I still love it. I'm not interested in the women's bomber jacket because I want a coat with a longer length and sleeves without ribbed cuffs. Please, please, please make this in women's sizes and fit. I'll buy one and give this one to my son.
